The Perfect Pool Party!

Nothing is more fun than a pool party. After all, how many parties can you think of where the entertainment and fun are already built in (or above ground)! For a great fun-in-the-sun summertime party for you, your family and your friends – just add water with an award-winning Kayak Pool!

The key to an ideal pool party? Keep it simple and keep it fun! First of all, plan a nice, easy menu and don’t hesitate to ask your friends or family to bring their favorite dish. After all, you want to spend your time with your guests and not cooking all day. Put away the grill and, instead, serve plenty of salads, fruits, veggies and dip and maybe some light sandwiches if you want something a little more substantial. And don’t forget the watermelon – the ultimate taste of summer!

It’s no fun if you run out of towels and bathing suits. Remind all your guests – starting with the party invitation – to bring their own. But be sure to have a spare suit or two and some extra towels on hand just in case. As for decorating, holiday lights are safer around kids than candles and torches. When the sun goes down, count on a couple strings of festive lights or choose from a wide assortment of affordable, easy-to-use solar-powered lights. These are great all summer long – and not just for your party.

Make sure your pool is plenty clean for your guests and make sure you have a nice private room for folks to change in. Also have some extra sunscreen on hand – you can never have enough.

If you don’t have enough patio or lawn chairs or enough occasional tables, it’s perfectly acceptable to ask your guests to bring a few. It beats sitting on the patio steps, the deck or the lawn! And make sure you’ve got plenty of disposable plates, cups, napkins and the like. No one wants to do dishes after a fun day in the sun. Plan ahead and make cleanup a snap!

If you’ve never played Marco Polo, you’ll find lots of fun pool games just like it on line. Also make sure to have a good supply of pool balls, floats, goggles, flippers, pool sprinklers, diving toys – you name it. And don’t forget the little ones. Keep plenty of buckets and toy shovels and fun outdoor toys on hand. But be sure you have some backup indoor activities available in case the weather turns bad – board games and some family video favorites will do just nicely!

Finally, make it safe. Make sure someone responsible monitors the pool at all times. Never ever leave children unattended. And have approved flotation devices within easy reach.

There’s nothing like a pool party for enjoying the best the summer weather has to offer. And there’s no better way to spend time with your friends and family. Remember, for the perfect summertime party, just add water!
